Quick Beef Bulgogi
Beef Boo-Gogi. Sorry y’all I just had to have one cheesy Halloween post. Tired of those same Ground Beef dishes? This is a great way to change it up and still keep it simple. Based on the Korean dish Beef Bulgogi just simpler and with more budget friendly ingredients.
1 lb ground beef
Fresh ground black pepper
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger( sub 1/2 tsp dried if needed)
1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
1/4 cup brown sugar packed
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
2-4 tsps Sriracha, chili garlic sauce, gochujang or red pepper flakes( whatever spice you got in the pantry)
1 cup green onions chopped
Steamed Jasmine Rice.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add beef to skillet and season with black pepper. Cook and crumble into small pieces( I smash it with the back of my wooden spoon) Drain off grease if necessary. Once Beef is browned add Sesame Oil, Garlic and Ginger. Sauté for a couple minutes till garlic and ginger start to soften. Add Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar and Sriracha( it whatever spice you are using). Cook for a few minutes allowing the some of the sauce to absorb into the meat. Serve with Jasmine Rice and sliced Green Onions.
