Butter and Garlic Basted Ribeye

Super Simple Sunday- Butter and Garlic Basted Ribeye.

Ingredients
1 12 oz Boneless Ribeye 1 1/2 inch thick
Salt and Pepper
1 tbsp Olive Oil
3 tbsp Unsalted Butter, room temp
2 garlic cloves peeled and lightly crushed
1 sprig Fresh Rosemary( if you don’t like Rosemary use Thyme)


Over high heat preheat a cast iron pan until hot.
While pan heats par steak dry and season with salt and pepper.
Add oil to hot skillet, then add steak. Cook for about 4 minutes till deeply browned. Turn steak and cook for about 2 minutes.
Add butter, garlic and rosemary. Cook steak for 2 more minutes using a spoon to to baste with butter as it cooks. ( this will be for medium rare)
Transfer steak and let rest for 4 minutes.
Slice steak against the grain and serve. *In my family the steak never makes it to a plate it somehow magically disappears from the cutting board as soon as I turn around. This is why my steak night is actually baked potato night.
